The PaleoAdventures
Teachers Paleontology Field Course is designed to help teachers in grades K-12 educate their students about Dinosaurs, Paleontology
and Earth History. The course is six days long, consisting of lecture, seminars, hands on activities and field work at several
Late Cretaceous Dinosaur and other fossil localities in Western South Dakota. Participants
are trained in regional geology, stratigraphy, paleo history, classroom techniques using fossils, basic dinosaur biology and
anatomy, exploration and excavation techniques, fossil preparation techniques and digsite documentation procedures. Participants
are even allowed to keep some of the smaller, common fossils for their own classroom use (up to $50.00/person/day). By the
end of the course, participants should have a basic, well-rounded understanding of the Dinosaurs world that they can convey
to their students- an understanding that can only be achieved through practical fieldwork under careful supervision.
Colorado Continuing Education credits may be earned via the Colorado School of Mines and Technology for
an additional fee. Trip price includes field manual, handouts, land owners fees, lodging for seven nights, transportation
