FEATURED SPECIMEN:
Trinacromerum cf. kirki
Partial Skeleton
Butte County, South Dakota
FOR SALE
$90,000
(Academic Institutions
only)
Offered for sale we have one ORIGINAL BONE Polycotylid Plesiosaur partial skeleton legally
collected from private ranch land in Butte County, South Dakota.
This specimen is very rare (1 of only 2 known kirki specimens!) and ONLY offered to public repositories. The majority
of the in-situ bones were in fantastic condition, with only a minor amount of pre-depositional weathering and encrustation.
Approximately 40% or more of the animal has been recovered. It has a complete pelvic girdle (illia, ischia, pubes), at
least 2.5/4 complete paddles (Propodials-tip), fragments from the pectoral girdle, partial vertebral series, and fragmentary
ribs. Much of the specimen had previously weathered out and had re-buried itself at the base of the hill. Many of these fragments
have been recovered and the tedious work of pieceing it all back together again is currently in progress.
The specimen is being offered fully prepared with little restoration. Elements are loose and ready for study or
molding/casting.
Specimen is offer for sale with FULL MOLDING AND CASTING
RIGHTS. A copy of all documentation, photographs, land-owner contract, partial publication rights, access to the dig site
for research purposes and other miscellaneous information comes with the specimen and is included in the price.
*Payment plans
may be available (with low interest) to qualified buyers with a significant down-payment.
*Cost of shipping/delivery is not included.

Mosasaurus cf. missouriensis
Skull and Partial
Skeleton
Butte County, South Dakota
FOR SALE
reduced to $29,999.00
Offered for sale we have one ORIGINAL BONE Mosasaurus
skull and partial skeleton legally collected from private ranch land in Butte County, South
Dakota. This specimen is very nice with limited selenite gypsum damage (rare for Pierre Shale Formation
specimens). The skull is 80-90% complete missing only the left surangular/articular, right pre-max, left pterygoid, left and
right coronoid some teeth and small portions of the left quadrate, posterior-anterior portions of the maxillas and a few other
minor bits and pieces. The partial skeleton consists of at least 10 paddle elements, one scapula, radius (?), four cervical
vertebrae, atlas, axis, and a few other odds and ends. Several additional highly weathered dorsal vertebrae are also included
with the specimen. Total length of the lower jaw is just over 30 inches (70 cm.). This places the length of the animal at
its time of death somewhere between 21-24 feet long (7-8 meters).
The specimen is being offered partially prepared with minor restoration (crack fills and some teeth). It has also
been set up with a temporary mount. Elements are loose and ready for study or molding/casting.
Specimen is offer for sale with FULL MOLDING AND CASTING
RIGHTS (provided one mounted copy cast skull and cervicals is delivered to PaleoAdventures within one year of sale). A copy
of all documentation, photographs, land-owner contract, partial publication rights, access to the dig site for research purposes
and other miscellaneous information comes with the specimen and is included in the price. We anticipate this specimen to be
one of the first, AAPS registered specimens (in progress).
The exact species of Mosasaurus
is as yet, undetermined. Several experts argue that it is similar to Mosasaurus missouriensis,
others suggest Mosasaurus conodon, and still others have suggested it may be a
new un-described species of Mosasaurus. The specimen was found in the Didymoceras
nebrascense ammonite zone of the Pierre (pers. comm. Neal Larson, 2005/2006),
which does place it at an age somewhere between missouriensis and conodon (approximately 74-76 mya).
