Gear Up! Checklist of Recommended Items for Dino Digs
Recommended Checklist of Gear to Bring
We provide all of the tools and equipment necessary for a successful day out dinosaur digging, including: picks, shovels, screens, X-acto blades, dental tools, brushes, collecting bags and adhesives. BUT… you will need to pack a few things for your comfort while digging all day under a blazing sun. These include: a wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, water bottles, pack lunch and snacks, small backpack, hiking boots, gardening gloves, notebook, camera, and personal toiletries. Here is a list of a few recommended products. If you forget something, don’t fret, there is always the Expedition Outpost giftshop at our new Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Museum. For some custom merch see the PaleoAdventures Website or the DHCM website: https://www.dinosaursofthehellcreekmuseum.org/giftshop
Recommended Paleo-Reading List
We often get asked by parents and grandparents what dinosaur or paleontology books we would recommend. You do not need to read any of this prior to going on a dino dig, but if you are really interested in becoming a paleontologist, this list will get you on a good path. Most are written for teenage to college aged kids.
